I was Born 02/01/1966 in Wakefield Nebraska, oh!! That would be the long verison ok ok The short Verison!!
I got in the tree stand right at 3:18. Perfect night other than the wind kept switching from Southeast to South. Not good but it might work. I didn't see any deer until about 45 mins to sunset.
I heard a very deep gruntle Buck just South of me but couldn't see him. I look east and see a doe about 100 yard exiting through the thicket. Shortly afterward I see a buck. I'm thinking he's a shooter. He looks like a buck I had a while back on the trail Cam
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3F0SMFcW4cM
The buck chases the Doe North of me and I catch another glace at them together getting a drink out of the river about 120 yard north of my treestand.
I glace over and see another doe going west about 20 yards from my treestand looking like she's going to the river for a drink. She passes right by the Scoutguard and triggers it. You can see me in the back ground in the upper righthand view
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-pXo0m3UqmQ
So now I have 3 deer going down for a drink and they normally come back my way after drinking. I Notice the Buck and Doe North of me coming back up and the buck is chasing the doe right towards me.
I see the buck coming and notice that this buck was smaller than the one I was looking at earlier. Crap where did he go??? The smaller buck starts bird dogging the doe and they exit south of me in full chase!!
I couldn't believe the bigger buck never made it too me.
Looking off to the Southeast again and see a nice 4x4 buck coming on a path about 30 yards from my treestand. It's the same one that visited by Scoutguard 4 night ago Really wide buck seems like he is going down hill rack wise
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VLqpy71BZdc
I set up for the shot at 30 yards. I remember visiualling all of my shot oppurtunities earlier that night and had a mark at 30 yards right were he is coming. I settle in and MISS he takes a few leaps and disappears. I gave him a snort weez and nothing doing !!!
Shortly afterwards I can hear a buck making a scape really close to my treestand Really Close!!! I look in that direction and see him. He is right by the Scoutguard I see the trigger of the IR lights and he pushing some more dirt around. He takes a left turn and he's coming my way!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a3DFgY-7nLU
I pull back as he's getting closer and steady the pin. The buck is coming 1 yard from the bottom of my tree!! I'm right on top of him. I tried to aim a little right of the spine and release. WAM!!!! I see the arrow sticking out of the right top side of the deer. He runs about 40 yards and piles over.
I found out later I punched him right is the pumper.

This was one of my best hunts ever and the illistration of the trail cam really brings it to life. It was my goal to shoot a deer on a video trail cam and came really close. I was only 2 seconds away from having it recorded as I released the arrow. Better luck next time!!!

Very nice Scott. The best part of that was seeing you in the stand.
The video is cool. I am still not sold on using any cameras but I may be turning. I enjoyed the post a lot. _________________ +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Awesome. That buck looks alot better in the field photo than he die on the camera. Very nice. The video of the doe right up in the camera with you in the tree behind her is stinking awesome. _________________ ->>>>----------------------------->

Congrats on the doe, IBH. Way to get your buddies on the deer, E2. Congratulations on an awesome buck, spacman.
I had some catching up to do since I haven't been on the internet since Friday and have been real busy. I attended my uncle's funeral Saturday morning, but my wife and I were able to get out hunting Saturday evening and that hunt is the main reason I have been busy. Huntin' Mama will tell the rest of the story later. _________________ Greg Kush

I haven't contributed to the forum this fall because I've been busy, but I still read. There have been some great stories and pictures on here this year. Good luck to all for the remainder of the season!
I shot this buck on family land in Nance county Saturday evening. I didn't make the ideal hit on this deer and still wonder if the arrow hit a branch below as it was broadside at 10 yards. It hit a few inches too far back which made for a long tracking evening. I consider myself lucky for two reasons...sitting in a very exposed area and actually getting the deer to pass by me, and finding the deer this morning. I didn't get much sleep last night. This is another birthday buck. I've shot three bucks since 2001 within four days of my birthday...guess I'll remember this again for next year.
This is a picture of my father-in-law. If not for him and my husband (Hoytshooter), then I would not have this deer. They were extremely persistent and patient. We had to back out Saturday evening and come back Sunday morning.

He sure is pretty HM. Congrats on the deer.
I also am glad you posted a picture of greg's dad. I bet it was sort of fun for the two guys to be out tracking together. _________________ +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
